Tips for Motivational Interviewing
Following a brief overview of Motivational Interviewing you will be exposed to some specific strategies (tips) to improve outcomes in rehabilitation and return to work settings. These tips will not require previous training in motivational interviewing and are specifically designed for you to use with your clients to facilitate behaviour change in rehabilitation, return to work and other HR settings.
About the Presenter
Paul is the co-director of the Centre for Sport and Social Impact. Paul is also the coordinator of the Sport and Rehabilitation Group within the School of Psychology and Publlic Health. Paul is a full ASORC member and has been a practicing psychologist for over 20 years (primarily in sport, physical activity, and mental health) and is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society. Paul's expertise relates to behavioural change, primarily using motivational interviewing for people with chronic conditions. Paul is an internationally recognized qualified MINT (Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers )trainer and he has published over 100 peer reviewed articles most pertaining to behavioural change in rehabilitation and sport settings.
